This flow chart compares large radius press bends to tight radius mandrel bends.
Tight radius mandrel bends are generally considered more aesthetically pleasing, however, flow tests indicate that the large radius press bends (as used by Advance Headers), are in fact a superior product.
The flow test was conducted on a ported Holden 308 head with large valves and 8 different valve lifts. The first test was on a mandrel bent pipe bolted to the head with 3 bends in it, 100° - 30° - 90°. The second test was an identical press bend copy.
